Frequently Asked Questions

A major renovation is a significant investment. We believe in complete transparency. Below are answers to the most common questions our project managers receive.

Do you handle all necessary building permits? +
Yes. Canacraft handles the entire permit application process with your local municipality (e.g., the City of Toronto). This includes submitting architectural drawings, structural engineering reports, and scheduling all necessary municipal inspections during construction.
Are you fully licensed and insured? +
Absolutely. We carry $5,000,000 in commercial general liability insurance. Furthermore, our entire team and all subcontractors are covered under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), protecting you from liability in the event of an on-site injury.
Can we live in our home during the renovation? +
It depends on the scope of the project. For basement finishing or single-room remodels, yes. We utilize temporary dust walls and HEPA air scrubbers to isolate the construction zone. For whole-home renovations or major structural changes (like underpinning), we strongly advise clients to relocate temporarily for their safety and comfort.
How does your pricing and payment structure work? +
We provide detailed, fixed-price contracts after the design phase. We do not do "allowances" or vague estimates. Payments are tied to explicit project milestones (e.g., 10% deposit, 25% upon demolition, 25% upon rough-in completion, etc.), ensuring you only pay for completed progress.
Do you provide a warranty? +
Yes, we stand behind our work with a comprehensive 5-Year Craftsmanship Warranty on all labor. This is in addition to the manufacturer warranties on materials (such as roofing, windows, and appliances) which can range from 10 years to lifetime.
